It worked……After I removed the disk from the Casing and put it back into the laptop, Windows started up (first in Safe Mode, and then normally).īut, after logging in, the programs, like Excel, and Word are giving problems in starting….like Unable to link to OLE objects, and unable to access that resource….etc. Then used FixMbr utility to fix the MBR of this disk. As it is asking me for the Administrator password and not accepting the one provided by me. Now, when I am using the XP (SP2) disk to enter the Recovery Console and run the Fixmbr command, I am not able to. I looked around for a solution to this problem, and found that fixing the MBR may set the things right for me. Though it shows the Hard Disk, and the data on it. To do a System Restore, I tried using the ERD Commander but it does not recognize the OS, and thus the System Restore option does not work. I have a HP 520 Notebook with Windows XP SP3, which is showing a Blue Screen on Normal Startup.
